Serena Williams Receives ICC WT20 West Indies 2010 Commemorative Bat

(PRWEB) December 2, 2009 -- She is well known for wielding a tennis racquet – to successful and telling effect – but on Sunday, November 29, world No. 1 female tennis player, Serena Williams, showed that she might know a thing or two about the game of cricket.

The sporting icon, who was in the Caribbean over the Thanksgiving weekend for an exhibition tennis series with world No. 4 player Caroline Wozniacki, was honored with an ICC WT20 West Indies 2010 (http://icc-cricket.yahoo.net/) commemorative cricket bat at Sugar Hill Tennis Resort in Barbados. The bat presentation is part of the promotional kick-off of ICC WT20 West Indies 2010 (http://icc-cricket.yahoo.net/) – the third edition of the ICC’s Twenty20 championship – taking place in four Caribbean countries (Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts and Saint Lucia) from April 30 to May 16, 2010.

An appreciative and smiling Williams took possession of her newest sporting equipment – which features the tournament’s logo tagline “Captivating, Contagious Cricket” – and struck a batting pose much to the delight of the 500 guests in attendance.
